“The Wind Catcher” is a competition proposal for House of the Future – Dubai 2023, envisioning a contemporary family home that combines luxury living with sustainable design. The project integrates renewable energy systems such as solar panels, wind turbines, and hydropanels for water generation, along with natural ventilation and greenery to enhance the microclimate.
The house is modular and adaptable, supported by smart (AI-driven) technologies that optimize energy use and comfort. Its design blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor spaces through atriums and retractable glass walls, while reinterpreting traditional architectural elements in a contemporary way.
Focused on family life, wellness, and community, the project also includes spaces for relaxation, social interaction, and educational activities. Designed for a 15×35 m plot, the layout takes advantage of its elongated form to capture prevailing winds and maximize environmental efficiency.
